You Could Buy More With Your Salary Before Tinubu — Isaac Fayose

Isaac Fayose and Tinubu

Social commentator Isaac Fayose has criticised the economic situation under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, arguing that many Nigerians are facing greater hardship despite the increase in the national minimum wage.

Speaking in a recent remark, Fayose said that while some supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) claim that many states struggled to pay workers’ salaries before Tinubu took office, the purchasing power of those salaries was significantly higher at the time.

According to him, workers could afford essential commodities such as a bag of rice, electricity was more affordable, and several basic necessities were within reach.

He, however, argued that under the current economic conditions, many Nigerians can no longer afford basic needs despite earning the new minimum wage.

Fayose further claimed that the country’s poverty rate has increased, urging Nigerians to assess economic realities based on the cost of living and purchasing power rather than salary figures alone.
