Vice President Kashim Shettima has strongly criticized those who are opposing the decision made by the Bola Tinubu administration to relocate certain departments and units of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) headquarters from Abuja to Lagos.

Shettima argues that this move is in the best interest of all Nigerians.

Shettima, represented by his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, stated that this decision is in the best interest of all Nigerians.

He made these remarks as a Special Guest of Honour at the 10th Annual Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Lecture in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Shettima emphasized that the current administration would not implement any policies that are biased or detrimental to any specific region of the country.

“Recently, there were those opposing the federal government’s decision over planned relocation of some departments and units of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) from Abuja to Lagos, I want to reassure the people of the North that the move is for the interest of the generality of Nigerians,” the VP said.

The theme of the event was “Creating Pathways for Peace: Tackling Banditry and Insurgency through Good Governance for Sustainable Development in Nigeria.”

“Therefore, those opposing the relocation process of some of the departments should desist, or else they are acting as mischief makers,” Shettima stated.
