2027: Tinubu’s Victory Will Be Decided at Polling Units, Not Social Media — APC Chieftain

A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, has dismissed opposition campaigns against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid on social media, insisting that the outcome of the 2027 presidential election will be determined by voters at polling units.

Kwankwaso stated this on Tuesday while addressing journalists in Kaduna, following the APC presidential campaign kick-off rally held in the state last weekend.

He argued that online criticism, trending hashtags and social media campaigns would not translate into electoral victory for the opposition without effective grassroots mobilisation and support from voters.

According to the APC chieftain, the turnout at the Kaduna rally demonstrated the ruling party’s mobilisation strength in the North-West and showed that political support could not be measured solely by activities on digital platforms.

He maintained that any political party seeking to defeat Tinubu in 2027 must focus on organising supporters, engaging communities and convincing eligible voters rather than relying on online narratives.

Kwankwaso also challenged opposition parties to focus on scrutinising the policies and development agenda of the Tinubu administration instead of what he described as propaganda aimed at undermining the President.

He said the administration’s performance would remain a key factor in the choices Nigerians make during the next presidential election.

Describing the Kaduna rally as more than an ordinary political gathering, Kwankwaso said the turnout reflected the commitment of supporters who would have the opportunity to express their political preferences through the ballot.

He urged political stakeholders to move beyond narrow partisan interests and concentrate on issues affecting Nigerians, including national development, unity and the equitable distribution of resources.

The APC chieftain added that the ruling party would continue to strengthen its grassroots structures and take its campaign message directly to communities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
