Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has criticized affluent Nigerians who spend vast sums on private jets and luxury vehicles while neglecting investment in businesses that could create jobs for ordinary citizens.
Speaking at a recent event, Dangote questioned the rationale behind such extravagant spending.
“Why must you be using a Rolls-Royce?” he asked. “Instead of using your money to buy private jets and Rolls-Royce cars, you could establish companies and create jobs in your community. That’s why whenever I go to the airport, I can hardly find space to land my private jet everyone is buying jets instead of investing in job creation.”
