The Accord Party, led by Prof. Chris Imumolen, is set to conduct a fresh Osun Governorship Primary on Monday, December 15, 2025. This follows reports of a disputed primary conducted by individuals claiming to be National Executives of the party.
Prof. Imumolen has distanced the party from the earlier primary, describing it as a “kangaroo exercise” unknown to the Accord Party. He assured that the party will conduct a new primary in accordance with the regulations and guidelines set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“We are committed to conducting a free, fair, and transparent primary that reflects the will of the people,” Prof. Imumolen said. “We will not recognize the outcome of the earlier primary, and we urge all stakeholders to ignore it.”
The Accord Party is expected to announce further details of the primary process in due course.
