They Always Find Network to Call Their Girlfriends – Sowore Slams Senate Over E-Transmission

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has reacted sharply to the Senate’s decision to adopt both electronic and manual transmission of election results, describing the move as backward and deliberately designed to undermine credible elections.

In a statement following the Senate’s resolution, Sowore argued that Nigeria already has the technological capacity for full electronic processes, insisting that voting and result transmission should not be treated differently from everyday digital transactions.

“If you can send millions of naira from your phone, you should be able to vote from your phone,” Sowore said.

He mocked claims that poor network coverage makes electronic transmission impracticable, taking aim at Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former APC National Chairman Adams Oshiomhole.

“There’s no state Akpabio goes to that he doesn’t find network to connect with his girlfriends. There’s no state that Oshiomhole goes to that he doesn’t find network to rub the feet of a lady,” he added.
