“It Was God Who Told Me to Stay – Pastor Bature Shares Painful Marriage Ordeal

Pastor Christie Bature

Pastor Christie Bature has opened up about a deeply personal and pa+nful chapter in her marriage, detailing how infidelity, unexpected responsibility, and what she describes as divine instruction reshaped her life and ministry.

In a recent interview, she recounted discovering that her husband’s unfaithfulness had resulted not only in betrayal but also in the birth of a child. Faced with the situation, her immediate reaction was to leave the marriage something she believed she was justified in doing.

However, she said she felt a strong spiritual conviction urging her to stay.

According to Pastor Bature, she sensed God instructing her not only to remain in the marriage but also to forgive her husband and take responsibility for the child born from the affair. Despite the emotional turmoil, she said she chose to obey.

She described the experience as deeply pa+nful, noting that being a minister did not shield her from the realities of heartbreak. In fact, she said it intensified her struggle, as she questioned why such a situation would happen despite her faith and service.

The most challenging part, she explained, was accepting and raising the child as her own. She revealed that she cared for the child alongside her biological child, raising them almost like twins dressing them alike and nurturing them equally for many years.

Reflecting on that period, Pastor Bature said she still finds it difficult to fully explain how she managed it, attributing her strength to grace and constant spiritual guidance.

She added that this act of obedience ultimately became the foundation of her ministry. Through the experience, she believes she was taught the true meaning of forgiveness, which later shaped her calling to minister to others.

Initially known for her music ministry, she said she never envisioned herself as a preacher. However, she now sees her journey as preparation for a broader purpose helping others navigate pain, forgiveness, and healing.
