Troops of 1 Brigade Combat Team, supported by a Quick Reaction Force, have neutralised two suspected terrorists during a fighting patrol in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Security sources said the troops responded to intelligence on the movement of suspected terrorists along the Bagega–Anka road at about 10:20 a.m. on May 3.
On making contact, a firefight ensued between the troops and the terrorists.
According to the sources, two of the suspects were neutralised during the encounter, while others fled the scene.
The troops also recovered a motorcycle from the area.
They are currently maintaining pressure on fleeing elements and conducting further exploitation operations to enhance security in the general area.
