Former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede, has reportedly failed to secure the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Jigawa North East Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to credible political sources, the APC primary outcome did not favour Babandede, effectively ending his bid to fly the party’s flag for the senatorial contest.
Insiders familiar with ongoing political negotiations also suggest that Babandede may be preparing to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), with consultations already underway between his camp and key stakeholders within the party.
While official confirmation from Babandede or his representatives is still pending, the development is already generating political discussions across Jigawa State, particularly regarding possible realignments ahead of the next election cycle.
More details are expected as the situation develops.
