Ebola Outbreak Confirmed in Eastern Congo as 65 Deaths Reported

An Ebola outbreak has been confirmed in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, specifically in Ituri Province, according to the Africa CDC.

Authorities say 246 suspected cases and 65 deaths have been recorded so far, with infections reported mainly in the Mongwalu and Rwampara health zones.

Health officials have begun emergency response measures as efforts intensify to contain the spread of the deadly virus.
