
National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has described the party’s nationwide presidential primary election as a major demonstration of strength, unity, internal democracy, and nationwide acceptance.
Yilwatda made the statement while officially presenting and proclaiming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the APC presidential primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to the APC chairman, the presidential primary was conducted peacefully across wards, local governments, and states nationwide, while the collation process was transparently carried out from the grassroots to the national level.
He disclosed that President Tinubu secured a total of 10,999,162 votes during the nationwide exercise, while his challenger, Stanley Osifo, polled 16,503 votes.
Yilwatda also commended APC governors who served as returning officers in their respective states, praising their commitment, sacrifice, and dedication toward the successful conduct of the primary election.
The APC chairman further appreciated millions of party members across the country for their support and belief in the vision of the ruling party.
He equally praised former Senate President, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, who chaired the Presidential Primary Election Committee, for what he described as exceptional leadership and coordination throughout the exercise.
The APC presidential primary marks a major step in the party’s preparations for the 2027 presidential election as political activities continue to intensify across the country.
