FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has dismissed claims that opposition parties could force the All Progressives Congress (APC) into a runoff in the 2027 presidential election, insisting that Peter Obi’s political momentum has faded and that he cannot repeat his 2023 electoral performance.
Speaking on News Central, Wike declared that the so-called “Obi Kererenke” movement no longer exists.
“All these so-called ‘Obi Kererenke’, it does not exist again. I have killed it,” he said.
When asked about the possibility of opposition parties forcing the APC into a runoff, Wike dismissed the suggestion, questioning the strength of the opposition.
“Run where? What is runoff, with who?” he asked.
Wike also criticised former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, claiming that Nigerians had previously given him an opportunity to lead but that he failed to deliver.
He further accused former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi of looting the state, alleging that Nigerians were aware of his record in office.
Dismissing Obi’s political appeal, Wike described the former Anambra State governor as a dramatist and claimed he had nothing to offer Nigerians.
“Nigerians know that Obi has turned it into an offer. He is a dramatist. Nigerians know Obi has nothing to offer. Obi wave is even dead and buried,” Wike added.
