An official of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) narrowly escaped death after suffering an electric shock and sustaining burns while working on an electric pole in Gbagada, Lagos State.
The official and his colleagues had reportedly visited the area to carry out repairs on an electricity pole. While he was working on the pole, he suddenly suffered an electric shock, leaving him with burns on parts of his body.
A video circulating on social media shows his colleagues attempting to bring him down from the pole after the incident.
The victim could be seen writhing in pain as his colleagues carefully brought him down and rushed him to the hospital for medical attention.
He is reportedly responding to treatment.
