Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, has said those who fail to see the progress Nigeria is making under her Husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration should be given “Jigi Bola,” referring to Tinubu’s eyeglasses.
She spoke on Friday, October 23, 2026, while inaugurating the headquarters of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in Abuja, ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
“I want to leave Aso Rock in 2031, by the grace of God, and enter a Nigeria that I, as a 70-something-year-old woman, will enjoy,” she said.
Speaking about the country’s development, the First Lady pointed changes at Nigerian airports as evidence of progress.
“I want to get to the airport and travel quickly, you know. You can see that our airports are changing, so things are happening in Nigeria,” she stated.
She added that those who fa!led to recognise the progress could be given what she jokingly called “Bola Tinubu eyeglasses.”
“Those Who Don’t See Nigeria’s Progress Should Be Given “Jigi Bola” Eyeglasses”
“I want to leave Aso Rock in 2031 and then walk the streets of Nigeria as a woman in her 70s; Things are happening in Nigeria, except for those who don’t see. Maybe we will give them Bola Tinubu eyeglasses, jigi Bola” Remi Tinubu said.
