A 50-year-old woman has allegedly confessed at a police station to selling her twin baby boys for N300,000 to a woman identified as Oluwakemi, whom she accused of operating a baby factory.
According to her alleged confession, the woman had previously sold her one-year-old son to Oluwakemi. She reportedly said she decided to sell her twin boys after their father rejected them.
She further alleged that she became involved in child trafficking after her shop was burnt down, forcing her to start hawking agbo, a traditional herbal drink.
The woman claimed that Oluwakemi later approached her and offered to pay her for helping to steal children.
According to the alleged confession, she received between N80,000 and N120,000 for some of the children, while she was paid N900,000 for the last child she allegedly stole at Egungun.
She also claimed that the first child she allegedly helped to steal in 2022 was later rescued by the police.
The allegations against Oluwakemi have not been independently verified. The matter is expected to be subject to further police investigation.
