VeryDarkMan Accuses Adeleke of Being APC Puppet, Drags Davido Into Controversy

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has criticised Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke over his appearance at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, alleging that the governor has been aligned with the ruling party despite his previous political affiliations.

VeryDarkMan also mentioned Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, in his criticism, claiming that the musician was aware of his uncle’s alleged political alignment but opposed the APC publicly for political reasons.

In a statement circulating online, the activist described Adeleke as an “APC puppet” and argued that the governor’s appearance at the APC campaign council inauguration had confirmed his long-held suspicions about the governor’s political allegiance.

“The election in Osun was nothing but an APC primary (APC vs APC),” VeryDarkMan said, alleging that Davido knew his uncle was associated with the ruling party but maintained a public opposition to it because an open declaration of support could have affected the governor’s electoral prospects.

The activist further argued that political elites often prioritise their personal interests over those of ordinary Nigerians.

“You are a big joker if you think elites will sacrifice themselves for the masses, they love themselves very much and all they do is for their own personal interest,” he added.

Adeleke’s appearance at the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council has attracted attention because of his political history and his relationship with the party’s leadership.

The development has also drawn Davido into the discussion because of his family relationship with the governor and his previous public comments on Osun State politics.

However, VeryDarkMan’s allegations about Adeleke’s political allegiance and Davido’s knowledge of his uncle’s alleged affiliation remain claims attributed to the activist and should not be treated as established facts without further evidence.

The controversy comes amid growing political activity ahead of the 2027 general election, with political figures and their public alliances attracting increased scrutiny.
