Nollywood actress Chita Agwu has announced that her marriage has been legally dissolved by a court, bringing an end to the union.
The actress made the disclosure in a personal statement in which she described the development as the end of one chapter of her life and the beginning of a new one.
According to her, the decision followed considerable thought and a deeply personal journey. She said she had chosen to embrace the new phase of her life with peace, grace and dignity.
Reflecting on marriage and relationships, Agwu noted that not every union ends as initially hoped, adding that individuals deserve the freedom to move forward without judgment, ridicule or public humiliation.
The actress also stated that she would not disclose private details surrounding the divorce or engage in public discussions about the circumstances that led to the end of the marriage.
She appealed to the public to respect the privacy of both herself and her former partner, emphasising the need to handle the matter with sensitivity.
Expressing appreciation to those who have supported her, Agwu said she was focused on healing, personal growth and embracing the future.
“My marriage has ended, but my life continues. I move forward with my head held high, my dignity intact, and my heart open to the future,” she stated.
The actress concluded her announcement by thanking her supporters for their understanding and respect as she begins a new chapter of her life.
