Shehu Sani, a former Senator and an outspoken Nigerian politician, has sound a note of caution to the ruling party national leader, over his perceived friendship with the northern political leaders in order to gain their support over his alleged 2023 presidential ambition.
Tinubu was made the chairman of the 11th Annual Lecture in honour of the late Premier of Northern Nigeria, Ahmadu Bello, organised by Arewa House.
Moreover, while delivering a speech as the chairman of the 2021 Sardauna Memorial Lecture on Saturday, said Nigeria’s economy remains weak despite exiting recession.
Similarly, recall that the former Lagos Governor came under heavy criticism few days ago, after he announced the donation of N50 million to the victims of Katsina Central Market fire incident.
Many Nigerians berated Tinubu for ignoring victims of fire incidences is the South, but chose to go ahead and donate huge sum of money to northerners on order to win their favour against his alledged 2023 presidential ambition.
The former Lagos State governor, who announced the donation while addressing the affected traders at the ravaged market yesterday, said he would continue to support the state government and the traders to rebuild the affected shops.
Consequently, in his reaction, Sani issued a string advice to Tinubu not to get himself carried away with the new political friends, but be himself, because at the end of the day, he would be left alone to himself and dissapionted.
On his words, he said:
“Oh ye Jagaban;Be thyself. They shalt smile and whisper to taketh thee to the peak of Mount Sinai Only to throw and drown thee in the turbulence of the Euphrates River.”
