A major electrical and electronics showroom in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, has been gutted by fire.
Emergency responders and residents were battling to contain the inferno and salvage property at the facility as of the time of filing this report.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, although eyewitness accounts and preliminary reports suggest a possible electrical spark or power surge shortly after electricity was restored to the building.
The incident is the second fire outbreak at the facility, following a similar incident in 2020 that destroyed property worth millions of naira.
Authorities have yet to officially confirm the cause of the latest fire.
