Chief Dr Gloria Nkoli Imoh, popularly known as Adadioranma, has received the Mother of the Day Award at the 2026 Annual Conference of Women in Aviation International (WAI), Nigeria Chapter, held in Lagos.

The conference, which attracted thousands of women, was themed, “Clear for Take-Off: Engaging the Next Generation of Women in Aviation and Aerospace.”

Speaking at the event, Chief Dr Imoh commended women for their contributions to society and highlighted the important role mothers play in nurturing and supporting the aspirations of young women.

“There are women who watch planes take off, and there are women who clear others for take-off,” she said.

She noted that while the conference focused on inspiring the next generation of girls to pursue careers as pilots, engineers, air traffic controllers, dispatchers and aerospace leaders, it was equally important to recognise the mothers who provide the encouragement and support that make such ambitions possible.

According to her, behind every girl who takes to the skies is often a mother who first cleared the runway for her dreams.

Chief Dr Imoh also reaffirmed the commitment of the Adadioranma Foundation to supporting girls with ambitions in aviation and other professional fields.

She assured the over 10,000 women gathered at the event that the foundation was willing to collaborate with WAI Nigeria Chapter to empower the girl child and create opportunities for young women across the country.

She further declared that the foundation would continue to invest in the dreams and future of young people.

“The daughter of a good mother will become a mother to a generation,” she said.

Reflecting on her years of service and mentorship, Chief Dr Imoh said her commitment to humanity had gone beyond raising her own children to nurturing and supporting countless young women who regard her as a mother, mentor, counsellor and source of inspiration.

“Adadioranma Foundation did not just raise children; we have raised destinies. We did not just open doors; we cleared runways. We did not just watch dreams take off; we made sure they had permission to fly,” she stated.

She added that she had consistently stood as a pillar of strength, wisdom, grace and motherly love to her family and many others whose lives she had positively influenced.

Her recognition at the conference was widely applauded, as the audience erupted in applause when she was called forward to receive the award.

The honour recognises her contributions to mentorship, philanthropy, women empowerment and the advancement of opportunities for the girl child.

For aspiring women in aviation, her message was one of encouragement and possibility, demonstrating that women can combine leadership, motherhood, humility and strength while making meaningful contributions to society.

The award further celebrates Chief Dr Gloria Nkoli Imoh’s commitment to nurturing destinies, empowering young women and creating pathways for future generations.

Congratulations to Chief Dr Mrs Gloria Nkoli Imoh (Adadioranma), Mother of the Day, WAI Nigeria Chapter 2026 Annual Conference.
