Daniel Regha Criticises Atiku Abubakar Over Arise TV Interview, Alleges “Own Goals”

Daniel Regha and Atiku

Social media commentator Daniel Regha has taken aim at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar following his recent interview on Arise TV interview, accusing the veteran politician of making contradictory statements and undermining his own position.

In a post that has since sparked reactions online, Regha described Atiku as “arrogant” during the interview but argued that the bigger issue was what he called a series of “own goals.”

He criticised Atiku for urging Nigerians to vote out the All Progressives Congress (APC), noting that the former vice president had previously supported the party’s rise to power during the 2015 elections that led to the defeat of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Regha also faulted Atiku’s remarks about Jonathan’s leadership, where the former vice president reportedly attributed past governance challenges to inexperience. According to Regha, Nigeria’s situation was more stable before the political shift that brought the APC into power.

The commentator further questioned Atiku’s claim of representing both “the past and the future,” arguing that his political record raises concerns. He also referenced Atiku’s alliances with figures he had previously criticised, suggesting inconsistency in his political stance.

Additionally, Regha took issue with Atiku’s comparison involving Rabiu Kwankwaso, stating that such remarks could undermine efforts to build political alliances.

Concluding his remarks, Regha said the former vice president “lacks leadership qualities,” a statement that has drawn mixed reactions across social media platforms, with supporters and critics of Atiku debating the claims.
