Former Lagos State House of Assembly member, Desmond Elliot, has publicly sought forgiveness from President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, following the political disagreements that arose during the last All Progressives Congress, APC, primary election in Lagos.
Elliot, who went on his knees during the meeting, apologised for his actions and appealed to Gbajabiamila to accept him back into the APC political family in Lagos.
Speaking during the encounter, the former lawmaker admitted that he had no justification for his conduct and expressed regret over the role he played during the contentious primaries.
> “I’m sorry, I have no excuse, I have nothing other than to say I’m deeply sorry, sir, and I’m hoping. In our culture we prostrate. Emabinu daddy, emabinu sir.”
Elliot also acknowledged that he allowed his thoughts to mislead him during the primary election and said he accepted the decision of the people of Surulere.
He further pledged to renew his loyalty to the leadership of the Governance Advisory Council, GAC, in Lagos, signalling his desire to put the political disagreement behind him.
Gbajabiamila, in response, granted Elliot an audience and embraced him warmly, suggesting a reconciliation between the two politicians after the fallout surrounding the APC primary.
