
The Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has reaffirmed his administration’s plans to partner with the North West Development Commission to address poverty and sustain the region’s development.
The governor made the pledge when he received the leadership of the NWDC led by its Chairman, Lawal Abdullahi, on a courtesy call on Friday at the Government House, Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.
According to Namadi, the partnership between the state government and the NWDC is crucial in addressing the developmental challenges facing the region.
He congratulated the chairman and members of the commission on their appointment by President Bola Tinubu and expressed his appreciation for their visit.
The governor therefore urged the commission’s members to uphold integrity, commitment, and dedication in their duties.
He emphasised the need for collaboration between the commission and the state government to achieve sustainable development in the region.
In his remarks, the Commission’s Chairman, Abdullahi, stated that their visit to Dutse was to brief the governor on the activities of the newly established commission.
He said, “The NWDC was established to promote the development of the northwest region, and its partnership with the Jigawa state government has a significant the region’s socio-economic”
The NWDC chairman emphasised that the visit was part of their advocacy efforts across member states to seek collaboration and support from the Jigawa State Government.
Abdullahi then commended Namadi’s dedication to the development of the state and his commitment to addressing societal challenges.
He also expressed optimism that the partnership between the commission and the state government would yield positive results.
