The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 37-year-old man, Anthony Kosisochukwu Okafor, for allegedly causing the death of his elder brother, Emmanuel Okafor, 45, following a dispute at their home.
According to a statement by the state police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the incident occurred on February 7, 2025, in Adegbe Village, Abagana, Njikoka LGA.
During the altercation, the suspect reportedly str¥ck his brother, leading to severe inj¥ries. Emmanuel was rushed to the hospital, where he was later confirmed dead.
The police described the incident as unfortunate, stressing the importance of peaceful conflict resolution within families.
The case has been transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Awka, and will proceed to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
