Nigerian singer Rybeena has urged singles not to let the challenges associated with marriage discourage them from taking the plunge, saying both marriage and singlehood can come with their own regrets.
The singer made the remarks while speaking on the Wahala Podcast, where he offered a candid perspective on the realities of married life.
According to Rybeena, people should understand that marriage is not a journey defined by constant romance and happiness, but one that requires patience, compromise and the ability to manage disagreements.
“If you marry, you regret. If you don’t marry, you still regret. Choose one of the regrets and take the risk,” he said.
He explained that conflicts are inevitable because couples come from different backgrounds and often have different mindsets, making disagreements a natural part of living together.
“Marriage is not always like loving, loving. It’s about disagreeing and arguing,” the singer stated.
Rybeena, however, stressed that the success of a marriage depends largely on how couples handle their differences rather than trying to avoid disagreements altogether.
He said partners must learn to understand each other, respect their boundaries and make necessary adjustments to sustain the relationship.
“What matters is the way we combat, the way we understand each other, and we know our dos and don’ts,” he added.
