Former Governor of Abia State and sitting Senator, Orji Uzor Kalu was recently sentenced to 12 years in prison for fleecing the resources of Abia to the tune of more than N7billiion. Some suborned and obviously compromised South Easterners are giving ethnic colouration to this court judgment. But I do not subscribe to this view. To me, stealing such a humongous figure from largely impoverished Abia State deserves a stiffer penalty. Kalu hobnobbed with the Fulani Caliphate, decamped to the ruling APC, and even took a mocking Islamic title. He was an avowed agent for the establishment of RUGA and Cattle Colonies in Igboland. He fought IPOB and was looking for Nnamdi Kanu to hand over to a hostile Federal Government. He did all these to ingratiate himself to the Fulani slave masters and secure a waiver from prosecution. But he has now failed fantastically. His fate awaits all conscienceless politicians steeped in the art of perfidy and betrayal of their people. Like Uzor Kalu, they will soon go into perdition and rot in prison.
