A viral video circulating on social media has sparked widespread reactions after a man jokingly suggested an unusual “security tip” for victims of kidnapping in Nigeria.
In the video, the unidentified man claimed that anyone kidnapped by bandits who gains access to their phone should avoid contacting security agencies such as the police or the Department of State Services (DSS). Instead, he advised them to post insulting comments about a senior government official on social media, mention the official by full name, and then drop the phone.
According to him, authorities would allegedly trace the person’s location within 24 hours.
The remark, which appeared to be satirical, has generated mixed reactions online.
The identity of the man and the circumstnces surrounding the recording remain unclear at the time of filing this report.
