The chairman, state Care-taker committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Imo State chapter, Prince Barr Marcillinus Nlemigbo, has hailed the emergence of Ambassador Prof George Obizor as the President General of Igbo apex socio-cultural organization, Ohaneze Ndigbo.
Nlemigbo who described Ohaneze Ndigbo as a critical instrument and important platform for the promotion of Igbo unity as well as common economic and socio – political interest, maintained that the choice of Prof Obizor as the leader of the organization at a time like this in our history, was most appropriate, timely and strategic.
The chairman, while congratulating the diplomat on his new responsibility as the president general of Ohaneze Ndigbo, further charged him to bring his wealth of experience and contact to bear on both Ohanaeze as a body and Ndigbo as an entity by building a more cohesive, vibrant, vocal and inclusive platform for the Igbo nation. According to Nlemigbo, Obizor’s emergence came at a time every average Igbo man is passionate and desirous to partner with pragmatic, sincere and courageous leaders in the pursuit of a common goal. And with Obiozor’s pedigree and clouth as a successful diplomat and distinguished Igbo patriot, the authentic Igbo voice will revibrate again with significant impact.
Nlemigbo further congratulated the immediate past president general, Chief John Nnia Nwodo on his immesurable contributions to the Igbo cause of unity, justice and fairness and the successful completion of his tenure while wishing him well in his further endeavors. The Chairman also expressed his gratitude to other notable Igbo leaders, particularly His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma the Executive governor of Imo State and his other brother governors from the South East whose support and solidarity to the leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo had remained consistent and unflinching.
