Peruzzi Claims He Co-Wrote ‘Gwagwalada,’ Says BNXN Didn’t Write the Hit Song

Nigerian singer and songwriter Peruzzi has made a surprising revelation about the making of the hit song Gwagwalada, claiming that BNXN (formerly Buju) was not the original writer of the record.

Speaking during an appearance on the Zero Conditions Podcast, Peruzzi alleged that Gwagwalada was originally a song he created with Kizz Daniel before it eventually ended up being released by Kizz Daniel and BNXN.

According to Peruzzi, he had visited Kizz Daniel for a collaborative recording session when the singer played him several unreleased songs, including an early version of Gwagwalada.

«“Buju BNXN didn’t write ‘Gwagwalada’; it was my and Kizz Daniel’s song. I called Kizz Daniel for a collabo, so I pulled up. Kizz played random songs and then he played ‘Gwagwalada’, so we called Buju and he sent me the song and I left. Later only to discover they’ve both released the song,” Peruzzi said.»

Peruzzi explained that after recording his contribution, he believed the song would feature him. However, he later discovered that the track had been released with BNXN instead, a development he said happened without his knowledge or consent.
