A 12-year-old girl has emerged as the sole survivor of a tragic plane crash that claimed the lives of 152 passengers, including her mother, in what rescuers have described as a remarkable story of survival.
The aircraft crashed into the sea, leaving no other survivors. The girl reportedly stayed alive by clinging to floating wreckage for nearly nine hours in rough waters before rescue teams located her.
Despite sustaining multiple injuries and suffering from hypothermia, she remained conscious and held on until help arrived. Emergency responders described her survival as “extraordinary” given the harsh sea conditions and the length of time she was adrift.
Authorities confirmed that all other passengers and crew on board the aircraft died in the crash. An investigation into the cause of the incident is ongoing.
