Nigerian Afrobeats star, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, delivered a standout performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Los Angeles, United States.

Rema joined BLACKPINK’s Lisa and Brazilian superstar Anitta on stage for the live debut of their collaborative track, “Goals,” a song released as part of the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album.

The colourful performance, held at SoFi Stadium, brought together three major music sounds from different parts of the world — Afrobeats, K-pop and Latin pop — creating a high-energy moment for fans watching across the globe.

Rema, who appeared in a striking white hooded outfit, represented Africa on the global stage as he performed alongside the two international stars, further highlighting the growing influence of Afrobeats in world entertainment.

The ceremony also featured other top performers, including Future and Tyla, as the United States opened its World Cup campaign against Paraguay.

Rema’s appearance comes as another proud moment for Nigerian music, following the continued global rise of Afrobeats and the presence of Nigerian artistes on major international platforms.
