The son of former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha has reacted to his father’s court victory over Governor Hope Uzodimma, saying the judgment has brought an end to allegations of forgery and reports of arrest surrounding the senatorial primary election.
Speaking after the judgment, he questioned who should be held responsible for the alleged forgery if his father and his camp were not responsible.
He also praised the judiciary for standing firm, insisting that justice cannot be bought or sold to the highest bidder.
He further commended his father for remaining steadfast despite the pressure, noting that Okorocha continued campaigning for President Bola Tinubu and the APC during the period.
He said:
“To God be the glory. All the news about forgery, no forgery, arrest, no arrest has been put to rest with justice speaking loud.
Few weeks ago, there were news about arrest and forgery on this primary election against my father and I. But with this judgment today, since we are not the forgers, the question is who is.
My excitement today is that justice has been shown not to be a commodity. It cannot be sold, it cannot be bought, it is not for the highest bidder.
I must salute the judiciary. With all this fake news that happened just recently, I’m sure it was to untwist the judiciary, but they stood firm.
I must also salute my father. When the pressure that came, Owole Ndiibo stood firm. He wasn’t worried about it; rather, he went campaigning for the president, Mr. President Tinubu, went to Zaria and all other states for a party he founded.”
