Popular Nigerian social media commentator Tunde Ednut has criticised the administration of President Bola Tinubu over the alleged use of public funds for medical treatment abroad.
Speaking ahead of the 2027 presidential election, Ednut questioned why Nigerian leaders who travel overseas for medical treatment have not invested in building world-class hospitals in the country.
He reportedly raised concerns over the country’s borrowing and questioned how public funds are being spent, particularly at a time when many Nigerians are struggling with the rising cost of healthcare and basic necessities.
Ednut said it was unfair for political leaders to have access to medical treatment abroad while ordinary Nigerians struggle to afford medication and access quality healthcare at home.
He also questioned the narrative that Nigerians should remain patient because “Tinubu is working,” arguing that the condition of the country requires greater accountability and improved leadership.
According to him, the situation should motivate Nigerians who believe the All Progressives Congress (APC) government has failed to meet expectations to make their position known during the 2027 elections.
He called for better leadership, improved healthcare, better living conditions and greater transparency in the management of Nigeria’s resources.
