We Like What You’re Doing – Gbajabiamila to ADC Lawmaker

Gbajabiamila

Nigeria’s political space has been stirred following comments by Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, directed at an opposition lawmaker during a recent birthday event.

Speaking to Leke Abejide, a member of the House of Representatives under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Gbajabiamila was quoted as saying he should remain in his party rather than defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to the remarks, the Chief of Staff encouraged Abejide to “stay in ADC and scatter them,” adding that the ruling party “likes what you’re doing.” He also referenced former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello, who had reportedly suggested that the lawmaker join the APC.

Gbajabiamila further urged Abejide to remain in the ADC and secure electoral victory, while also mentioning another political figure, Bala Gombe, as someone who could receive support. He concluded his remarks with a “good luck in court” message, hinting at ongoing or impending legal proceedings involving the lawmaker.
