Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has come under fire on social media after declaring that he would “never support APC” in his lifetime.
The singer made the statement on X, writing in capital letters: “I CAN NEVER SUPPORT APC IN MY LIFE!!!”
However, shortly after the post, some Nigerians dug up an old 2014 post allegedly showing Davido campaigning in support of an APC aspirant, sparking a fresh debate over his political position.
Reacting to the resurfaced post, an X user identified as @eniafe wrote: “You can never lie to me 😒.”
Another user, @chymezye, appeared to mock the singer’s statement, writing: “Welcome home, prodigal son. We forgive you 🙏.”
A third user, @emeka_0, shared a photo of Davido with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa and asked: “Bro explain what you’re doing here?”
Another X user, @special, also criticised the singer, writing: “You’re such a useless boy.”
The reactions have continued to generate debate among Nigerians, with some questioning whether Davido’s current opposition to the APC contradicts his past political associations.
