Controversial social media activist, VeryDarkMan (VDM), has called for a probe into the Nigerian Army, questioning its response to the kidnapping and killing of a senior military officer by bandits.
In a video shared online, VDM recalled past incidents where communities allegedly faced severe military retaliation after attacking soldiers, contrasting it with what he described as the Army’s subdued reaction to the killing of a general.
“I remember back then that whenever a fight happened in a community and army officers were beaten by community people, everybody would run because when the Army came back, it would be deadly,” he said.
The activist expressed concern that despite reports that bandits kidnapped a general and his wife and later killed the officer, there had been no visible action that matched the gravity of the incident.
“Now fast forward to 2026, bandits kidnapped an Army general and his wife, killed the general, and the entire Army haven’t done anything about it till now,” he stated.
VDM argued that the circumstances surrounding the incident raise serious questions and insisted that the military should be investigated to determine why those responsible have not been brought to justice.
