Arsenal produced a statement comeback at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, defeating Chelsea 2–1 in a thrilling London derby to maintain their perfect start to the Premier League season.
Chelsea stunned the reigning champions inside just 77 seconds when Morgan Rogers found the net with a superb finish. Rogers then celebrated in the style of Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, adding further spice to an already heated encounter.
His celebration, however, quickly became a talking point as Arsenal fans responded with chants aimed at the Chelsea forward, telling him: “You should’ve signed for a big club.”
Arsenal eventually turned the game around. Kai Havertz levelled the scores in the 25th minute against his former club before captain Martin Ødegaard completed the comeback shortly after the restart, scoring in the 50th minute.
The victory means Arsenal have won all three of their Premier League matches this season, continuing their impressive title defence and keeping them among the early pace-setters.
For Rogers, what began with a dream start and a Henry-inspired celebration ended in disappointment as Arsenal completed the comeback and secured all three points.
