Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has sparked fresh political debate after declaring that former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi cannot become Nigeria’s president “now,” regardless of the political platform he aligns with.
In a strongly worded statement shared online, Edochie argued that any political party Obi joins would eventually “scatter,” suggesting that the challenges facing the former Anambra State governor go beyond party structure or strategy.
He specifically referenced Obi’s reported association with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the move as “dead on arrival” and “a total waste of time.”
According to Edochie, the issue is “deeper” than what is visible, hinting at underlying political dynamics without elaborating further. He also questioned whether Obi is aware of these challenges or deliberately ignoring them.
“The truth remains the truth,” Edochie stated. “Peter Obi cannot be President of Nigeria now.”
