King Asari Dokubo has declared his support for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and its national leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, while distancing himself from the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Dokubo, while congratulating Senator Dickson and the NDC, said his support was specifically for Dickson and the party and did not extend to Obi’s presidential ambition.
“I am supporting our son, our brother, the founder of NDC, Senator Dickson. But we are not supporting the presidential candidate, that man called himself Peter Obi,” Dokubo said.
The Niger Delta figure also made strong allegations against Obi, describing him as a “criminal” and questioning his suitability to govern Nigeria.
“He can’t rule Nigeria, he can’t even rule me,” Dokubo added.
He further claimed that he had an “unfinished business” with Obi, saying he intended to revisit the matter.
“I have unfinished business with Obi. We are going to dig it out by ourselves. Obi is a criminal,” he stated.
Dokubo, however, maintained that his position on Obi did not affect his support for the NDC or Senator Dickson.
