
Firefighters on Tuesday evening battled flames that ravaged Emab Plaza, a four-storey building behind Mandilas on Lagos Island. The blaze, first reported around 9 pm, broke out on the fourth floor and quickly spread to neighbouring apartments.
Responding swiftly, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service dispatched teams from the Ebute Elefun and Oniru stations.
By 10 pm, Deputy Controller-General Olajide Ogabi confirmed that rescue operations were still ongoing.
He said, “The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service swiftly responded to a fire outbreak at a four-storey building, with the blaze reported from the fourth floor of Emab Plaza, located behind Mandilas, Taiwo Street, Lagos Island.
