Four residents have been killed and two others seriously injured after unidentified gunmen attacked two communities in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.
The incident occurred around 1:30am on Wednesday, September 23, in Godoro and Angwan-Bisala communities, both located in Katako District.
According to the Niger State Police Command, the attackers stormed the communities during the early hours of the day and opened fire on residents.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the attack to the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday.
Abiodun said four people were killed in the attack, while two others sustained serious injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, police personnel visited the affected communities as investigations commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack and identify those responsible.
