Members and supporters of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) were seen protesting in Anambra State today, calling for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
The demonstration comes on a symbolic day — 25 September marks Nnamdi Kanu’s birthday. He turns 59 today.
Kanu is currently serving a life sentence following his conviction in November 2025, while his legal team continues to pursue an appeal. IPOB has also recently intensified calls for his appeal to be listed and heard.
The protesters used the occasion to renew their demand for his release as his legal battle continues.
