As the Anambra State governorship election scheduled for November 8, 2025, gathers momentum, political strategist and consultant, Dr. Kenneth Anozie, has raised concerns over what he described as “the politics of name calling, personal attacks, lies and innuendo” targeted at candidates, particularly Senator Uche Ekwunife (CON).

In a strongly worded statement from Igboukwu, Dr. Anozie cautioned political propagandists against resorting to character assassination instead of focusing on issue-based campaigns.

“No human can destroy the political career of Uche Ekwunife. She defied all odds to attain greatness both in the banking halls and in politics. Lies and innuendo against her will never stand,” he declared.

Anozie, who has previously consulted for Presidents Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, Goodluck Jonathan, Atiku Abubakar, and several PDP and APGA candidates, revealed his long-standing personal and political ties with Senator Ekwunife. He described her as “an Amazon of accomplishments,” recalling her rise from the banking sector to national politics, where she attracted projects, offered scholarships, and created employment opportunities for hundreds of youths.

While reaffirming his support for incumbent governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo (CFR), Anozie insisted that the governor should not be associated with those spreading falsehoods against Ekwunife.

“Governor Soludo is too decent to condone such innuendo. Those engaging in propaganda in his name should be cautioned. I am supporting Soludo, but not at the expense of truth,” he stated.

He further warned that continued personal attacks on candidates, especially Senator Ekwunife, would no longer be tolerated.

“Iyom is a golden fish, Ifekaolado is a distinguished senator, Adaugo Igboukwu is a mother who has lifted people up. She is a priced woman in Nigerian politics. Enough is enough.”

Calling for issue-based campaigns, Anozie urged all political actors to redirect their energies toward presenting tangible plans for governance rather than resorting to smear campaigns.

He concluded with a prayer for peace and progress in Anambra State:

“May Anambra State keep progressing.”
