The Enugu State Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA) has announced that the monthly environmental sanitation exercise will hold on Saturday, February 28, 2026, between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., across the state.

In a statement signed by its Managing Director, Richard Onaga, the agency said there will be a strict restriction of movement for residents and vehicles during the exercise. Only individuals on essential duties will be permitted to move around, and they must present valid identification or an official ESWAMA pass.

The authority disclosed that a Mobile Environmental Court will be stationed at designated routes to monitor compliance, warning that defaulters would be arrested and prosecuted on the spot.

ESWAMA further directed that early morning sporting activities, loading and off-loading of passengers at motor parks, as well as other commercial operations across the state, must be suspended within the stipulated hours.

The agency urged residents of Enugu State to actively participate in the clean-up exercise, describing it as a collective responsibility aimed at maintaining a cleaner and healthier environment.

Residents seeking further information were advised to contact the agency via 08135534440.

“ESWAMA: A Cleaner Tomorrow, Today,” the statement concluded.
