People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the composition of its 2026 Screening Committees and Screening Appeal Panels as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
The announcement was made by the party’s Interim National Working Committee (iNWC), following the approval of the timetable and schedule of activities by the National Executive Committee during its 104th meeting. According to the party, the publication of committee members aligns with its guidelines and roadmap for the conduct of the upcoming elections.
The PDP also revealed that a total of 3,181 aspirants are expected to undergo screening nationwide. The breakdown includes 2,122 aspirants for State House of Assembly seats, 748 for House of Representatives positions, 198 for Senatorial contests, 112 Governorship aspirants and one Presidential aspirant.
According to the party, the screening exercise is scheduled to hold nationwide on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with designated committees expected to oversee the process.
