ADC Rejects Claims of Manipulation in Ongoing Presidential Primary

ADC

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has defended the credibility of its presidential primary process amid allegations of irregularities raised by aspiring candidate Mohammed Hayatu‑Deen.

According to the party’s spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi, on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the collation of results is still ongoing and no evidence has yet emerged to either confirm or dismiss claims of vote rigging. The party said it has not observed any pattern suggesting manipulation of the process.

Abdullahi also noted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was expected to join monitoring of the collation later in the evening, adding that INEC officials have already observed earlier stages of the primary across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The party’s defence comes as tensions continue within the ADC’s presidential primary, with some aspirants alleging irregularities as collation progresses.
