The inauguration of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors for Okija Ward 2 Polling Units was held on Monday in Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, drawing APC leaders, party executives, and political stakeholders from across the area.
The programme, coordinated by Hon. Uju Nwanekezie-Egemole, marked the formal launch of grassroots mobilisation structures under the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative in the ward.
The event featured a strong delegation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ihiala LGA led by the LGA Chairman, Hon. Onyemaechi Mathias Peter (Meche). Other attendees included the APC Women Leader, Hon. Mrs. Gloria Ani; Publicity Secretary, Hon. Paschal Emeka Arowusi; LGA Auditor; and several ward chairmen and executives.
Also present were political stakeholders and representatives linked to the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) structure across Anambra State.
In her welcome address, Hon. Uju Nwanekezie-Egemole described the inauguration as a step toward strengthening political engagement at the polling unit level.
She said the initiative was aimed at mobilising support structures that would promote civic participation and awareness within communities.
In his remarks, Hon. Onyemaechi Mathias Peter (Meche) urged the newly inaugurated ambassadors to intensify grassroots mobilisation efforts and ensure broader inclusion in political engagement across Okija Ward 2.
Representing the Ihiala LGA RHA Coordinator, Engr. Paschal Mbanugo delivered a keynote address themed “Renewed Hope at the Polling Unit Level,” encouraging participants to focus on voter education and community-level organisation.
A representative of Hon. Dr. Mrs. Nkechi Gloria Nnoli, Federal Character Commissioner representing Anambra State, charged the ambassadors to uphold integrity, promote voter awareness, and ensure inclusive participation at the grassroots.
Similarly, Hon. Chukwudi C. Anene, APC 2027 Ihiala II Constituency candidate, described the ambassadors as “foot soldiers of democracy,” urging them to support developmental and political engagement initiatives in their communities.
The highlight of the event was the administration of the oath of office to the newly inaugurated Polling Unit Ambassadors by the APC Ihiala LGA Chairman.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Hon. Mrs. Gloria Ani and musical performances, including the party anthem “On Your Mandate We Shall Stand.”
With the inauguration completed, organisers say the Renewed Hope Ambassadors structure in Okija Ward 2 will focus on voter sensitisation, political mobilisation, and grassroots engagement ahead of future elections in the area.
