President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to remain hopeful and give his administration more time to address the challenges facing the country, saying Nigeria is gradually moving towards recovery.
Tinubu made the appeal in a message delivered by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, during a special prayer session at the National Mosque in Abuja to mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
The President said the country’s journey since independence had been marked by both challenges and opportunities, but maintained that his administration was working to address what he described as mistakes and missed opportunities accumulated over the years.
According to him, Nigerians should not lose hope as peace, development and economic progress would return to the country.
Tinubu further said Nigeria was now on the right path and that the sacrifices made by citizens would eventually yield positive results.
He therefore urged Nigerians to give his administration another opportunity to continue and complete what he described as the good work already underway.
