The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has reacted to reports that the Federal High Court has sacked its elected state chairmen, stating that it is currently reviewing the judgment.
In a press statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said its attention was drawn to media reports concerning the ruling delivered by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik.
The ADC clarified that, following its recent congresses, it had earlier communicated that the elections did not terminate the tenure of the current state executives. According to the party, the existing executives are expected to complete their terms before the newly elected officials are inaugurated.
Despite this position, the party disclosed that its leadership has directed its legal team to thoroughly examine the court’s decision and provide guidance on the next steps.
