The Joint Task Force South-East, Operation Udoka, has escalated its search for a man identified as Ifeanyi Eze Okorienta, popularly known as “Gentle The Yahoo,” with a N30 million reward announced for credible information leading to his arrest.
The task force, in a wanted notice circulated to the public, described Okorienta as a suspected threat to peace in the South-East and appealed to residents to assist security agencies with information that could lead to his whereabouts and eventual capture.
According to the notice, anyone who provides credible information resulting in his arrest will receive a reward of N30 million.
The military also issued a strong warning to members of the public against attempting to confront or apprehend the suspect themselves if they come across him.
Instead, residents have been advised to immediately alert the appropriate security authorities through the designated contact channels.
The task force listed 193 and 0806 795 9570 as contact lines for members of the public with relevant information, adding that information could be provided anonymously.
The development comes as security agencies intensify operations across the South-East in an effort to tackle violence, criminality and activities considered capable of undermining peace and security in the region.
The wanted notice, which features Okorienta’s photograph, carries the messages “No Violence, No Criminality in the South East” and “Give Peace a Chance.”
Operation Udoka urged residents to cooperate with security agencies, stressing the importance of timely information in ongoing efforts to restore and maintain peace across the region.
